Around MDI
This is a challenging single-day circumnavigation of Mount Desert Island (about 40 nautical miles). If you have solid open water skills (old BCU 4-star (sea), new BCU 3-star (sea) or equivalent) and want a real endurance challenge, join us. We'll have to deal with tides, current, and some very exposed coastline and, most likely, wind.

Duration:  12+ hours
Experience Required:   3-Star (Sea) or equivalent experience

Greenland Beyond the Basics
Build on the basics by adding the balance brace, side scull and chest scull - all foundations for rolling with a traditional paddle.
Cost: $75 (2 person minimum)
Duration: 3-4 hours
Experience Required: None, but Greenland Strokes or equivalent experience suggested

Greenland Rolling
This is a great way for beginners to learn the art of rolling a kayak. There are dozens of rolls possible with a Greenland paddle. How many would you like to learn? Class size limited.
Cost:
$25
Duration:
1 hours
Experience Required:
A controlled (panic-free) wet exit.

Pool Sessions
It's Maine.  It gets cold and unpleasant here in the winter but the MDI YMCA in Bar Harbor has a wonderful pool!  From February through April we do pool sessions from 2:30-3:45 pm on most Sundays. Reservations required.
Cost:  $15 per hour
Experience Required:  None.

The Unassessment
Work with a coach to assess where you are with your kayaking skills, then collaborate on an action plan to move forward. This is informal, low stress and all about you.
Cost:  $150 (2 person minimum)
Duration:  Full day
Experience Required:  None.
